Social Shopping for Brides and Bridesmaids
As our worlds become increasingly mobile, the chance that an entire wedding party will be located in one small town is inevitably unlikely.
This fact makes choosing attire for the bridal party a challenge. To meet this challenge and simplify the lives of both brides and the bridal party, wedding attendants can now take advantage of an amazingly innovative “virtual” dressing room.
Shiny Orb has addressed the issue of long distance shopping for bridesmaid dresses by allowing brides and bridesmaids to step into a Shiny Orb Dressing Room. This allows various members of the bridal party to shop together while they may be worlds apart.
The bride or other members of the wedding may browse the extensive collection of bridesmaid dresses and apparel and then add their favorites to the dressing room for others to see. As new additions are placed in the dressing room, each member will receive an email indicating the update.
Founders Phyllis Tam, Jennifer Hsieh and Elizabeth Yin saw this as a modern way for brides and bridesmaids to coordinate wedding attire without being tied to the same location.
In addition to the visual aspect, members are also able to communicate with each other by making suggestions or comments within the dressing room.
Unfortunately, current usage of this convenient site is limited to a few lucky brides. However, those interested can follow Shiny Orb on Twitter and Facebook to discover how to obtain a coveted access code and become one of the lucky virtual customers.
