Renewing Your Wedding Vows After 60 Years
The wedding “season” is upon us and many people will be exchanging their wedding vows in the hopes of forging a new life together.
Although this is a very big decision, the results that occur do not always match up with the intended desire. To put it bluntly, more than 50% of all marriages end in divorce.
There are all sorts of reasons for this, but it is much better to focus on the positive stories associated with marriage and what that has meant to the people themselves and their friends and family.
Obviously, no couple is going to agree on everything nor get along at all times. Marriage is a work in progress.
Yet, when we are able to see a couple that can renew their wedding vows after 60 years of marriage, we are both amazed and appreciative of their commitment to each other and marveled by the fact that they are renewing their own commitment to each other after so much time has elapsed.
This is a living testimonial to true love and care and concern for one another. We can all say the words and make the promise, but can we all really live up to it? Obviously, they can.
