Your wedding headdress choices can also go in another direction if you like, including things such as combs, tiaras, crowns,  and circlets. (also called a halo)

Combs and  Barettes.

For those who are wearing short hair, the comb is an excellent choice. A short and lightweight back trailing veil can be attached to it, or if you are wearing an upswept hairstyle,  flowers, ribbons or even precious gems can be attached to the hair comb.

If you elect to use the veil with your comb, make sure that you can remove it readily so that the hairstyle can remain intact even after you remove the wedding gown for your reception.

The barrette is also a viable option for those with short to medium length hair. It can be embellished with a wide assortment of things such as pearls or beads, as well as lace or ribbons. Trailing ribbons from the barrette is a lovely effect.

Halo Headdress

Popular for centuries the halo headdress was quite often worn in earlier times and was intertwined with flowers. Today’s bride wears a halo with a shoulder length veil attached in the back, or with no veil at all.

These are perfect for nearly any hairstyle that will be primarily down, and with almost any type of embellishments. The halo can be a wreath of flowers and ribbons, it can be gemstones, seed pearls or nearly anything at all, while the veil which flows from it can be likewise embellished with sequins, pearls or trailing ribbons.

Tiaras and Crowns

For a more elegant, country club style wedding, the tiara or the crown are a more traditional headdress choice for your wedding. They offer  a wide variety of ways to attach a veil and would be at home with a veil of any length.

Getting the right wedding headdress choices is primarily your decision. Making sure that it’s something you want, and will feel at ease wearing is important, but also be certain that it will mesh well with your gown.

If possible, select your wedding headdress from the same place where you purchase your gown but if not, then make sure that you have the wedding dress with you when you buy the headdress in order to compare colors and styles to be sure that they suit each other, as well as to match.
