Choosing Unique Fall Wedding Colors

Weddings during the fall season are quite popular, but every bride and groom always has to make things different – mix things up a bit so they do not become ‘just another wedding’. You need to think of a different color scheme that fits the season while at the same time not being run of the mill.

The key in doing this is to mix and match. Some colors, by themselves, are typically associated with the fall season – the months of September and October, which also happen to be the months where weddings occur more than in any other months of the year. But you just try pairing it with something less traditional and you get a combination that fits the feel of the fall season without it being passé or overused. You may also choose to go for good contrast colors that go against the common tone of the season – just be careful that you don’t overdo it.

These pairings need not be limited to the color scheme you pick – which many simply associate with the drapings, clothing, invitations and the like – but you can also utilize other less traditional elements or tweak other common fixtures at the wedding (like accent decorations and flowers) to fit the theme you had in mind without things looking too rehearsed or set-up.

Changing the tone of the color slightly can also be a big help – bronze, for example, is much less popular than gold, thus making it a great alternative for a color theme that isn’t too far from the color you want.

Many do not realize that the common colors for an autumn / a fall season wedding are not so many, and there are a variety of other colors you can choose from. It is important to open you mind so that you won’t be limited to the things that are already widely used. It’s you important day, and having the right color to match the season is like the finishing touch.
