Elegant Wedding Updo Hairstyles
You want to tie the knot in style and you have been looking at beautiful wedding updo hairstyles to match the wonder of the moment. All brides dream of their perfect wedding day and they imagine the wedding gown, shoes, jewelry, and cake easily enough, but when it comes to that all important, face-framing hairdo and all bets are off.
While it may seem that you have the perfect bridal updo in mind at the very beginning of your wedding plans, suddenly you get nervous and begin to change your mind. Even your favorite hairstyles suddenly seem to be all wrong.

Some brides can’t seem to make up their mind and as each day passes, their fingernails are bitten even shorter. You would think that having hundreds of hairstyle magazines would help but they often make things worse by adding more choices to deliberate over. I quickly discovered that friends and family are often of little use because they all have their own particular preferences, and usually their selections are not going to be among your top 10 choices.

You can choose to wear your hair down, but personally, I feel that the classic beauty of wedding updos adds to the overall look of most brides. Most of the popular updos can be arranged to accommodate any type of headpiece that you have chosen, but if you have a seriously ambitious hairstyle in mind you may need a professional hairdresser.
When arranging any upswept hairstyle do not forget that you can add accessories like pins or beaded netting to give your hairdo sparkle and flair. Take the time to arrange an appointment with a hair stylist who specializes in wedding updos, if only for advice. This is the one person who can absolutely help you achieve your perfect look. They can show you the best style for your face and even add attractive highlights that will add shimmering beauty to your crowning glory. A deep and intensive hair treatment will also add sparkle and shine to hair of any color.

I think that the easiest wedding updo is when you use an elastic band to fix your hair in a ponytail high on your head. The ponytail can be spiraled into curls with electric rollers or a curling iron. Then you will be able to control the curls with a light mist of spray. You can use sparkling, jeweled hairpins or combs to secure the sides tightly against your head or loosen the sides for a more casual effect.
Use a hair accessory that lets you roll your hair into a bun and then pin stray hairs in place. You can even secure the bun by placing a small elastic band around the base that is covered with tiny sprigs of flowers. Hairpins with flowers, pearls, or butterfly accents will add a whimsical and lovely touch.
I really like the very classic and stylish elegance of a French twist. While this is an easy style for some brides, you might find it easier to have a friend help you with this effort. Straight hair is perfect for this look, while curly hair offers more of a challenge in styling.
Brides who have naturally curly or wavy hair actually have a great advantage when it comes to fixing most of the wedding updo hairstyles. Hair with these qualities creates absolutely stunning upswept styles with body and bounce.

french braids with flowers
French braids can create a beautiful halo around your face and the ends are pinned into a twist or bun at the back of the head. Add a pretty orchid or some baby’s breath to highlight it and wow the crowd.
If you feel that a wedding updo you like looks too severe in style, you can soften the appearance by allowing wisps or tendrils of hair to fall along the forehead or in front of the ears. I find that using small, fresh flowers or decorative combs can provide hair softening effects and these touches also add bridal beauty to any hairdo.

I agree – the first one is my favorite. It is so helpful to find out how to create these gorgeous updos! I think pinning the hair up for the bridesmaids really creates a sophisticated and elegant look for the whole wedding. It also is a great contrast if the bride has her hair down.

The “romantic bridal updo” is my favorite. My hair is short now, but I’m trying to grow it out so I can do amazing updos like that. Thanks for creating this post! It’s super-helpful!
